Nepal Strike Back:- Calm, Composed, and Victorious in Malaysia

The sun was setting over the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, and Nepal’s team looked quietly determined. Just a day earlier, they had lost by only three runs. A tough defeat. But today was different. There was no doubt, only a strong desire to make a comeback.

Puja Mahato played with poise beyond her years, her 39 runs anchoring Nepal’s chase as captain Indu Burma guided them home, unbeaten on 27. Together, they turned a tricky 92 run pursuit into a statement win. Six wickets to spare, and a spark restored.

Earlier, Malaysia had posted 91 for 4, courtesy of Aina Hamizah’s graceful fifty . The only real resistance against Nepal’s disciplined bowling. Somu Bishwakarma’s double strike and Kavita Kunwar’s steady lines ensured the hosts never broke free.

When Nepal’s reply began, it wasn’t explosive. It was methodical. Every run stitched with intent. Rubie Poddar’s 15 and Indu’s calm finishing touch sealed the victory in the 17th over.

The win doesn’t just level the five-match series 1–1 . It reignites belief. With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier looming on home soil in January, Nepal have found their rhythm and perhaps, their roar.
