Young Nepali entrepreneur Mahesh Prasai has been honored by the Government of New South Wales (NSW), Australia, for his remarkable contribution to the local community through his business endeavors.

The recognition was presented by NSW Premier Chris Minns during a special ceremony held in Sydney on Saturday. The state government praised Prasai for his entrepreneurial spirit, dedication, and social contribution that have positively impacted the local community.

Prasai, who operates a successful fresh fruits and grocery business in Rockdale, Sydney, has earned respect for his commitment to quality service and his connection with the multicultural community. His business has become a symbol of how hard work and honesty can turn small beginnings into meaningful success.

The event also honored several individuals from various sectors :- including health, safety, and emergency services who have made significant contributions to the state. Among all the awardees, Mahesh Prasai was the only recipient from the Nepali community recognized in the business category, making the moment even more special.

Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Sanjeev Sharma, the Honorary Consul-General of Nepal in New South Wales, and Anil Pokharel, President of NRNA Australia, along with other community representatives.

After receiving the honor, Prasai expressed heartfelt gratitude and pride, saying that this recognition was “not only my personal achievement but a proud moment for Nepal and all Nepalis living in Australia.” He further added that it inspires him to continue contributing to society and to represent Nepal with dignity abroad.

Having come to Australia about 15 years ago as an international student, Mahesh Prasai has worked tirelessly to establish himself as one of the emerging young Nepali business figures in Sydney. Alongside his business success, he has also been actively involved in social and community service, supporting various Nepali and multicultural initiatives across the state.

Prasai’s achievement serves as a shining example for young Nepalis around the world showing that with determination, integrity, and community spirit, success can be achieved anywhere. His story embodies the true essence of a youth entrepreneur who balances business success with social responsibility.
